by examsnext Leave a Comment

In the Groups-1 mains Examination the paper which is considered as tough by the candidates is paper-v (Data interpretation and problem solving). As it based on mathematics, it is a main reason and a difficult situation for the candidates who have not taken mathematics subject after 10Th standard not only that in the last year there are some changes that has been made in paper-v. At this situation, let us see the precautions that have to be taken by the candidates and changes in paper-v.

There has been some changes taken place in the last years Andhra Pradesh public service commission GROUP-1 main Examination. In this the change is introducing internal choice in the most important section -1 and section-2. In section-3 the importance is given to passage based questions.

Section-3 Three Passages……20 Questions:-
Based on the changed syllabus in section-3 three passages will be given. for every passage there are four questions and totally 20 questions will be there for each question 2 and half marks and totally 50 marks is allocated for this section. When compare to other two sections, the candidates who have talent, concentration can score more marks in this section. The selected passages will be country based (Example; Rulling, Government based, development planning’s scientific problems) related will be there. Candidates must read and answer to the questions in detail as the question will be asked with explanation. Otherwise by giving a topic like some decisions, debates ,notification and asked to explain whether the given situation is true or not.

In Section-2:-
In this part, syllabus is based in the form of diagrams to find out the next chapter. In syllabus also based on this bar diagrams, pie diagrams groups are given in the form of questions. These will be two parts in this. So candidates should be aware about all diagrams based question.

Paper-v is based on problems fully. At the same time candidates can also score more marks in this. So those who are solving the given problem must go step by step that will present neatly. .Not only that, in the examination for the given step explanation must be given wherever necessary. So for this the candidate should practice from now itself. Mac tests, practice tests must be well practiced. Shortcut methods which is used for objective type examination is not correct in using in the descriptive method based GROUP-I mains.

Time management is important:- In the paper-v part, another important one to score more marks is time management, that to non-math’s candidates must give specific attention for this. First they must be clear in deciding that how must time should be given for each part and should be aware about that.

From the time which is allocated for preparation, 25% to 30% of the time must be given for paper-v. At the same time, the time management should be followed in examination hall also. For example, if the question paper will be in the form of 2018 pattern, then the candidates must allocate 50 minutes for section-1, 70 minutes section-2 and 60 minutes for section-3.

Undergoing previous year question paper:-
The candidates must also see previous year question paper. In this case of paper-v it will be useful in many ways. How the questions are asked in the required place? Should be noticed. If there is a time, practicing is also a helpful one.
